Self-Love in the Form of Healthy Eating: A Doctor's Journey to a Better Lifestyle

Meet Dr. Dakshinah Subramaniam, a full-time working mother and a doctor who, like many of us, found it tough to eat healthily amidst her busy schedule. But with the goal of feeling great, having more energy, and boosting her mood, she set out to make small habit changes.  In this article, she shares her journey to a healthier lifestyle and how eating well has become an act of self-love.

As full-time working mother, I'm usually drained by the end of the day and tend to gravitate to fast food for ease and comfort. Turning 39 last year, I aimed to make small tiny habit changes which would eventually lead to a healthier lifestyle.

Dietary choices have profound consequences on your health, but I didn’t want to have strict limitations, aiming for unrealistic weight loss, or depriving myself of the foods I love. Rather, I wanted to feel great, have more energy and boost my mood. My goal is to be vegetarian and pescatarian on most days of the year and have "unhealthy" foods every now and then. However, dietary changes take a lot of time, effort, thought and planning. And being consistent takes a lot of will power. Plus, I felt overwhelmed reading all the conflicting nutrition and diet advice.
That’s when a friend suggested Wise Crafters and I decided to try their 5 day weight loss meal plan, and I’ve been hooked on it till now. A full day worth of tasty organic plant based meals tailored to my individual needs, delivered conveniently to where ever I am.

The meals arrive on time. The packaging keeps things fresh and in good condition. Each meal is labeled clearly with the ingredients used and the calories it amounts for. I know that I'm putting in all the real good stuff and nourishing my body without having to think about it. The price is reasonable for the quality of food you receive.
My favorite part of it is the smoothies for breakfast leaving me feeling super energetic and overnight oats for dinner helping me sleep well at night without feeling so bloated.
Now 6 months into this meal plan, I feel great!! Healthier, fitter and more energized with an added bonus of weight loss and clearer skin. I've achieved my goal of having more meat free days. This, for me is self care.
